Burning Speed

DaNIeLMx

Question

Hi ¡¡ =) I hope that everyone its alright, and excited about the new upcomign film of BATMAN THE DARK KNIGHT =)

My problem its the following I have a HP computer wich has an internatl dvd burner drive which works well with Roxio 7 but still I have an external cd burner Sony which has been always working fine with the computer (meaning that it burns at its top speed of 32 x) but recently it always burns at 16x where the Creator Classic its established the option to burn at 32 x.

I bought another External dvd bruner Samsung, and it still makes the same thing, its kind of strange since I have Vista Home Premium with all the updates and also I have all the updates regarding every device I have on the computer. .

My guess its that in one of the many updates that Vista has installed within, one of them have affected the speed wich my external drives burn.

If anyone has any suggestions or ideas I would truly appreciate them.

What type of files are you starting with wav or mp3? Are you trying to change the type? What application?

Are you trying to do a direct disc copy? What application?

Hello guys thanks for the replys.. in this case I checked the DMA and it seems fine and also I tried to burn a data disc on Easy media creator 9 and the drive burned the complete 32 x velocity, but still whenever I try to burn an audio disc it burns at 16 x, any thoughts ? =)

Just out of curiosity - what happens to the speed if you create a .iso image first (both data and audio) and burn that? Is there still a difference in the speed or is it obnly when you are creating the audio CD 'from scratch'?

When I create a disc out of a ISO image it burns at complete 32 x speed, i have been givint a though that maybe the problem its not with the software nor Roxio, it could be that many of the windows vista updates that I have installed have affectd the performance of how the dvd burner behaves, I dont know it could be one possibility

Thanks Gi7omy and most kind for your reply =)

Checked and it seems fine! Or read everything, double checked and it is fine?

Have you tried changing the burn speed for a audio disc?

Thanks cdanteek I double cheked and everthing its set up correctly actually .. I try chaing the burn speed and still it gives me 16x instead of 32 x .

Someone told me that maybe BIOS has something to do with it regrading the USB ports but I dont find any logic regarding that.

I also like star wars LOL but that its an old story.. THE DARK KNIGHT its the wave of today.. =)

If your using the same CD media the burn speed should be the same for a data disc and a audio CD..

cd

Yeah I have very same way of thinking insteda the cd burner behaves differently with data burning it at 32 x and the audio burning it at 16x... its a very strange situation.. seems that my cd burner doesnt like audio but still manages to do the job well.

Are the data files and the audio files on a hard drive? Or are you doing a disc copy from another drive with the audio files?
