Question

so ive been looking around the forums to figure out why my EMC10 wont work. seems to me that roxio totally doesnt work with vista 64bit systems. im currently running vista 64bit with sp1. ive already upgraded to the latest version of 10.1 and it still doesnt work. ive just been trying to burn an avi to a dvd so i can watch it on my tv. so far i can create and edit the disc fine. but when i try to burn it, it starts the process and just freezes. are there any fixes that i dont know about or did i just totally waste money on this prog???

Yeah there should be a law regarding taking software back. I've been using nero 7 on vista x64 prior to buying this and it works just fine. I just didn't like how nero uses alot of it's own proprietory measures to get things done, so I decided to try this. I doubt they tested this product on vista at all.

My RMC10 freezes for a bit when I start a burn. If i let it sit there for a minute the process eventually starts. Oh while i'm waiting for the burn to start I don't do anything else. Just out of curiousity does your program in general seem slow to respond? Does it crash randomly? Mine does.

I don't know for sure but the consensuses I have seen here is that it seems to be hit or miss with 64 bit OS.

The "waste of money" was probably buying Vista 64… Do you run any application that actually requires Vista 64??? But the answer to that is not really relevant! Vista 64, XP Server 2003 and a few others are quietly absent from the list.

Does that mean they don't work, or does "XP" & "Vista" encompass all OS's that start with that name?

There is no clear answer so it can mean whatever you want to read into it.

If you search the Knowledge Base using "Vista 64" you get several hits regarding patches, driver problems, etc. To my way of thinking, this implies Vista 64 is fully supported!

Since this is your one and only post, it would appear you have not really made use of the forums to resolve your issues.

For example, no DVD players can play an AVI file directly unless it is in DirectX format and the Players are capable of handling that.

First order of business would be to try the Clean Install – Here
