Drag To Disk Problem

jfg

Question

I am having a problem using the Drag To Disk feature. After dragging folders to the Icon Disk, I hit the eject button on my computer or the eject button in the program and I get a message stating that the program is still busy. I can't eject the DVD unless I turn my computer off. What is the possible problem(s)?

Thank you.

Hello,

I returned your message to standard size. 'Shouting' isn't really necessary here :)

Are you giving the system time enough to actually complete the writing of the folders you've dragged onto the icon and all the files they hold?

If you don't wait until all the activity of the burner drive has finished, trying to eject the disc can get the process into a tangle. You should only try to eject these discs via the software, since Drag-to-Disc is a non-standard writing system and the discs may need to be closed specially before you eject them. Ejecting them manually can cause you problems and in some cases even make the discs unreadable.

Given that these discs will bring compatibility issues if you try and use them on another system, wouldn't it be easier to use one of the other applications such as Creator Classic to write your files in 'sessions' to make a standard disc that can be read on any PC?

Thanks for your reply, Brandon.

Probably the difficulty I was having was caused by my not waiting long enough for the disc to complete its task.

Also, thank you for advising me to skip the Drag-To Disc routine and go with something like Classic so that the disc would be usable on other computers. That is very sound advice and I will follow it.

Again, thank you for your help.
