Toast 8 Stuck 'preparing' Dvd+dl Burn On Lacie Firewire Burner

using 10.4.11, toast 8.0.4, LaCie fireWire external (the designey portable one).

 

doing small 1 or 2 file burns seems to work okay, but as soon as I try to burn larger numbers of files, and folders, it gets stuck at the 'preparing' phase. It doesn't crash or freeze, but just seems to go on and on, for hours, preparing. i had slow burners before but this doesn't seem to be normal.

 

aborting the burn won't successfully abort either. it just gets stuck 'aborting'.

 

did anyone else come across this? thanks!

bit the bullet and went back to the store with the burner. they tested it and fount it was defective. i got a replacement and so far it seems to work ok with toast 8.

Try choosing Save as Disc Image and then burn the disc image using the Image File setting in the Toast Copy window.
