Burn Dvd From Video_ts Folder?

Photofabe

Question

I have burned a DVD (w/menu) from Avid Liquid 7.2 and now want to use the VIDEO_TS folder created to burn more copies. Can RecordNow Deluxe do this? Do I add the complete VIDEO_TS folder or a certain file contained inside?

Here's the complete info on my version of RN , v7.0,Build 700B73Bp,SSD,Engine 400b36a,9

thanks in advance for any input,

Fabe

Hi Brendon,

Thanks for the reply.

You're quite right about not having the original DVD to copy. It's gone.

I will make the necessary adjustment for the Data option and give this a go. It's a 2 hour project and I don't want to waste my DVD's or time if I can avoid it!

thanks again

Hello Fabe,

The easiest way to make more copies with RecordNow! 7 would probably be to duplicate the disc you've made, with 'Exact Copy'. However if that's gone and you only have the video folder left, use 'Data Disc'

Make sure the folder containing the VOBs, IFOs, and BUP files is called VIDEO_TS, and either drag that folder in Windows Explorer into the indicated window in RecordNow, or else click 'Add Files and Folders' and navigate off to find your folder. Then burn the disc as usual.

I was a bit worried that 'Data Disc' option would not make a Video-DVD, but the DVD I made with the Data Disc menu showed in DVDInfo Pro as a Video-DVD, all regions, and no CSS protection. :)

It said the disc had been left open. This might not go well with some drives, so I suggest you go to the Options menu [the spanner near the top right edge of RecordNow] and set the Data option to 'I only need to use discs for one recording'. This will make sure that discs you burn thereafter are closed after burning.

Regards,

Brendon

Thanks Lynn,

It didn't even occur to me to use a RW.

Sometimes it's the simplest things we forget!

If you have a DVD/RW, you can try it and see if it works. If it does, re-burn to R media. If it doesn't, you can erase the RW disc and try something different.
