Emc10 Content Cd

Cumbre

Question

I have downloaded EMC10 it has unzipped and installed and is working correctly. I have downloaded the content CD which was unzipped to my PC. I can see it in Uninstall programmes but I can not find it on the PC. As there was no choice of target file on the computer during installation I am unable to track it. Now when I run aspects of EMC10 which require the content CD I can't provide it. How do I gain access to the content please?

If you unzipped it, you need to run setup.exe from wherever you unzipped it to. It should just install into the main Roxio folder into 'Content'

Thanks. My problem is that when it unzipped, and during the installation process it did not give me an opportunity to learn where it was going to be unzipped to. Guess I will have to hunt!!

When the software downloaded I double clicked and it unzipped and said that it had installed!

Let's backup here for a minute.

1) software downloaded

2) it unzipped and said it had installed

3) in original post you said you could see it in the uninstall panel

4) in original post you said there was no choice of target file on the computer during installation - this is because it installs automatically to where the EMC10 program was installed.

Are you getting some error message when you try to use EMC10? If so what is it?

OR

Are you looking for a menu item that says "Contents" or some other indication that "Contents" installed?

The main thing the contents file does is install additional menu styles. Go to MyDvd and open Menu Styles, if you have only 5 or six, then contents did not install. If you have 70 or so menu styles then contents did install. There will not be a menu item for "Contents".

Please excuse me if I misread your post but it sounds to me that contents was installed but you are looking for something that says "Contents" or some other indicator.

If you downloaded both the program and the content file, it is a good ideal to unzip both (I use the free 7-Zip application - Google for it) to new folders as others have suggested, then burn both to disc with EMC 10 so you will have hard copies in case your hard drive crashes.

Note: I do not remember what all Contents install, but the main thing are the additional menu styles. EMC10 runs fine without Contents being installed. It might also install some other small items, but I do not remember.

edit: corrected "...contnets did install. They....", changed to "...contents did install. There...."

I think you may have found the problem and highlighted a red herring I have been following. Following your advice above I found many Menu Styles which function perfectly. If however I go to Photo Projects and select a template to design a greetings card, or, for example an Album EMC10 asks me to insert the contents CD. This is what I have been using as an indication that the Contents CD had not installed. Any comment please, and by the way I really appreciate your interest. Nik

I do not use Photo Projects so cannot help with that. However, others that use it can probably identify the problem

By the way, the numbers I got about the menu styles came from other posts, I installed both program and contents before opening EMC10.
