Change "default" Location For Where Files Are Saved

Syrallas

Question

I just read an older thread where a guru noted that the poster's file might be "lost" because the program (Videowave or MyDVD) saved the production in the "default" folder chosen by the program. For me, its my c drive, user name, docs&settings, and a few more sub-folders. I always try to remember to save my files to a different drive & folder, but have forgotten and have to fish it out of the "default" location, which seems to be the same place in my c drive every start up.

Is there any way to point the programs like Videowave and MyDVD to a "different" default folder for storing files, which the program will remember when you open the suite anew the next day w/ a new project? If so, would you mind sharing how to do it?

There sure is. I have the Roxio software save my VideoWave productions to a folder that I have created.

The first time that I save a project, I click on SAVE AS, not SAVE, and I point the software to the folder that I created. Unless I tell the software to save to a different location, it will save all subsequent productions to that same folder.

Well, Grandpa, your suggestion worked, not surprisingly. agreement6.gif.

But I swear I have done that & still got re-routed to my C:drive. :glare: If that happens again, I will retrace my steps and test you again....greetings5.gif
