Toast Encodes Full Media, But Fails To Burn Fully

smpbmw

Question

I am very frustrated...I am trying to burn some DVD's using toast 9.0.2.

The video encodes properly ( or at least I think it does ) but when it starts to burn, it only burns about 5 minutes of a 2 hour movie and then quits.

I have tried 5 different brands and types of media R-/R+, Memorex, Maxell, HP, Verbatum and each produces the same result. And I checked my DVD compatibility and it works with each type of media..,

It happens on EVERY movie I try to burn and on every media....I have no clue why it is doing this, can some one PLEASE help me out....

PS. I have and iMac G5 with 1GB memory, 1.9Ghz CPU, and tons of disk space, and 10.4.11 OS X

While I don't know what's causing this problem for you, please choose Save as Disc Image instead of clicking the burn button. When that is done select the disc image file using the Image File setting in the Copy window. Now burn the DVD. This two-step process often works when the single-step process fails. Plus you can view the mounted disc image with DVD Player to see that things look right before burning the disc.

Thanks, I tried it, but I had similar results....Toast will now burn the entire movie, but it is totally un-readable by ANY DVD player.

This was the worst money I have ever spent...Toast is a total waste!

There has to be a better alternative then this piece of junk!

If you bought Toast as a download from Roxio there is a 30-day refund policy.

What you are experiencing is very uncommon. It may help if I know more about the steps you're following with Toast and what kind of source video files you are using. Does the mounted disc image play correctly with DVD Player? Have you tried burning the disc at a speed slower than Best? The available speeds are shown after a blank disc is inserted and recognized by the drive.
