Cannot Install Emc10, Have Roxio 7&8

leeakiko

Question

I have Windows xp and bought Roxio cd from roxio online, tried to install, didn't work, went to live chat support with Bob and Nicolas on 7/1/08 and was told to use msconfig. I questioned them, saying that I thought that was a hairy thing to do, and the chat support person said they do it all the time without any problems, well, it didn't work. It CRASHED my computer. I paid $350 to a geekstore to retrieve 70 gb of data, then have them do destructive recovery and had no computer for 5 days. Now with empty computer but I STILL CANNOT INSTALL. I used to have roxio 7 (love love this one) and then roxio 8 and thought that all vestiges of any roxio was obliterated with this. I really like the ability to make MY DVD, but I am severely stressed over not being able to get the emc 10 on board. Anybody have any inkling as to how to do this. I consider myself a novice with computer use. HELP! soon!!!!!

Try a clean install, link here for Windows XP or here for Vista, and turn off all anti virus / spyware programs when doing the install.

Follow instructions in clean install to the letter, print them out before hand and don't skip steps.

If the above doesn't work you will need to post pc specs, such as hard drive, processor, video chip, etc.
