red2
Hello. I am curious why some computer DVD players will not recognize DVD- but will recognize DVD+ when the DVD- format is older.
cdanteek
If it's old enough it could be a + only burner. There were -R and +R burners only, in the early days, before - + dual format burners! cd

grandpabruce
I mean DVD players that came out before DVD burners for computers. Most of those players would only play DVD -R media, after computer burners came out. If you have an ancient DVD player, it may play +R media, if the burner used, was set to burn it as DVD-ROM (book type).
cdanteek
why some computer DVD players I mean DVD players that came out before DVD burners for computers. I have never met a player like that no mater how old it was, as long as the DVD was burned on quality media. I have run into early players that wouldn't play +RW & -RW media tho. cd
