Cannot Import Divx And Avi Files From Hd To Blackberry

I a m using both Roxio EMC 10 on my desktop and EMC 9 on my laptop

 

When I use EMC 9's media manager to transfer videos from 250g usb drive to my Blackeberry the resulting file plays perfectly on my phone.

I I use EMC 10 to transfer that same file to the BlackBerry, the conversion takes place and takes the same time than on EMC 9 but the resulting file cannot be played by the phone I get "The file format is unsupported (or not supported)".

I am using the default (identical) conversion settings on both versions and the files are the same and come from the same drive.

I have also tried converting the files manually by choosing MP4 320*240 15FP and I get the same results files converted by EMC 9 play fine but not the ones converted by EMC10

I tried opening a ticket with Roxio but they directed me to RIM's customer support without even reading the email.

Any help will be gratefully appreciated.

I don't think there is a profile in EMC 10 Copy & Convert for BB. I always use the Media Manager came with my 8110 for the conversion.

 

Which BB do you have? Were you using Media Manager in EMC 10 to do the conversion?

tested with 8110. I can get the video to play but no sound if I use Media Manager in EMC 10. However, the file plays fine with sound when using Media Manger bundled with BB.

 

You might want to consider having both installed on the same machine. At least that's what my setup is.

I have used both copy and convert and media manager in EMC 9 and both work

Sounds like a bug. For now I recommend using EMC 9

I have even installed the BlackBerry Desktop Manager without Media Manager in order not to create any conflicts.

Desktop Manager works fine with ROXIO EMC 10 present
