super_claret
Hi, I'm trying to burn an avi file to DVD on an Intel Mac using Toast 9 but all I get is a DVD without sound. I've downloaded and installed A52 Codec Universal for Quicktime, as recommended elsewhere but still no joy! I would be grateful of any advice. 0 tsantee
While I think that codec should have solved the problem, download and install perian instead available at www.perian.org. Make sure the Roxio Converted Items folder is empty before starting over with re-encoding.
0 pseudonym
I'll bet some on this board could guess this was coming. :-) Try DivXWMAConverter: http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/macosx/19676 You can process your original video with DivXWMAConverter first (try it even if it is not a DivX file), and then use the "fixed" file in your Toast project. In fact, I've had some instances where an AVI file _already_ had an mp3 soundtrack, but a DVD burned with the file had no sound (both DivX and DVD-video format). After processing the AVI file with DivXWMAConverter, the problem was solved. Worth a try. Edited July 26, 2008 by pseudonym
