There may be some wrong information in your post. Does your video camera use MinDVD's, because the MiniDV format is tape?

If it uses miniDVD's, then simply put the miniDVD in your computer DVD drive, and copy the contents to a new folder on your hard drive. Make sure that you finalize the miniDVD, before doing this.

If the video camera uses minDV tapes, then you need to connect it to your computer via firewire to capture the video.

If your old camera has a "firewire" (IEE1394) port on it and same on the computer, use a firewire cable between the two and the click on "Capture Video" in the EMC 10 program. (Capture Video will be found under the "Video" listing in the program.

Capturing video from a camcorder using EMC 10 requires a Firewire cable and when captured will end up as an "avi" video file. If your camera doesn't have a firewire port then it's possible that the camcoder came with it's own capture program that you will have to use.

Yes you are right I am using Mini DVD-R. Sorry for that I am not very very familiar w/ this and still trying to learn more. What I did is I had the DVD in the camera and conected w/ a USB wire from video camera to computer . It does show different things but it doesn`t let me push the button save as. May be I am missing some steps. I think I finalised the disk but I will check again and this time I will try by puting the Mini DVD in the computer instead w/ USB. Could you please tell me in which menu do you go to? May be I am even in a wrong MENU. I feel so silly, I have never copied on PC or DVD before.

Thanks

You don't use any software, in the Roxio suite, to copy that minDVD to your hard drive. Use Explorer, or MyComputer to copy the files, just like you would copy any files from one place to another, on your computer.

Ok, so far I finalised the mini dvd-r . I put in the computer and I was able to watch it on the PC but I can`t save it there. Am I saving it correctly? All I do is copy dvd-r and paste in the file I want. After I do that it gives me a mistake message. CAN NOT CREAT OR REPLACE VIDEO-TS. CAN NOT FIND THE SPECIFIED PATH. MAKE SURE YOU SPECIFY THE CORRECT PATH.

If you don`t mind can you give me step by step instructions what shoul I do next?

Additional info

My Camera is Hitachi Model#DZ-MV380A I am using DVD-R 2.8 GB

Thanks a lot

I couldn`t find the IEE1394 Firewire and I tried just puting the DVD-R in the PC and then in Roxio I went to Video , Capture, scroled down and selected my dvd , chosed file where to save and changed the Capture setting to DivX. Then I was able to push 'import now' and now I have it safed on my PC. I even don`t know what I did I just followed your instructions and played w/ it. Is correct that I choosed DivX. I even don`t know what this is. Could you please navigate me what should I do next. All I am trying to do is a birthday recorded on 2 Mini DVD-R to record on 1 big DVD and send it to family so they can watch it on the DVD Player or PC.

Many many thanks

Make a new folder on your hard drive.

Put the miniDVD into your computer DVD drive.

If it starts playing, stop it.

Open My Computer. You should see your DVD drive. Right click on the drive, and select Explore.

You will now see a folder, or folders on the drive. Copy those folders to the folder that you made in the first step I listed above.

You now have your video movie on your hard drive.

If you have a second miniDVD that you want on the computer, do the same thing, but make a new folder for the 2nd miniDVD.

- What do you intend to achieve by copying the content of the miniDVD to PC?

- Do you intend to then edit and recreate?

- Do you intend to make multiple copies of existing miniDVD?

If the intent is just to copy the contents of miniDVD to your hard drive then following suggestions provided to you by Grandpabruce :)

Yes, I would like to use ROXIO for fun staff like edit and recreate, make it like a movie w/ some text and whatever roxio let`s me create and I am able to do. I enjoy doing staff like this but I am still learning. So far I used Roxio for pictures to create slideshow w/ text and add music and some other fun things. It took me like 3 full days .

Thanks

Hello

Could you please give me steps in which menu on the Roxio I need to go to save the movie from the Hard Disc (from PC) to DVD.

Thank you very much
