Sound Editor/mix Editor

GBR

Question

I am new to Easy Media Centre 10, but have previosly used some very old music editing software so understand some of the concepts. I am trying to enhance some music imported from LPs and tapes using Sound editor. When adding audio tracks they normally show as Green waveforms in the clip editor window. For no apparent reason, they sometimes appear Red, and now I have one that has opened in Blue. What do the different colours mean? - Is it anything to worry about or just a quirk of the software?

I hope someone can help me.

Are you atlking about the waveform at the bottom? The color really means nothing other than to distinguish between songs. You can actually burn an audio CD from Sound Editor although I've never tried that. The colors are there so you can readily see where the titles start/end. The dark orange color is to show which of the songs you have chosen to edit and that is the waveform you should be seeing in the larger window above that.

Hi - thank you very much for replying. I am talking about the large window at the top called clip editor. I guess the colours at the top match those at the bottom in mix editor, so if they are just to distinguish between tracks, then I don't have a problem. That's really refreshing to hear - I can now progress with my project (only 350 albums to do!).

Your help is much appreciated.
