Can't Import Sound From Dvd

Gurgimom

Question

I am trying to upload a DVD to YouTube. I have imported it every way I can think of, both as "import" and "add video" in video way and video copy and convert. I've used every file in the folder: ifo, vob and bup. I've exported as avi, mpeg 2, mpeg 4, etc. I've downloaded Roxio Buzz, and ISofter. I get nice video, but no audio. I have done this successfully with other DVDs, and am completely stumped. The sound plays fine on the TV DVD player, and on any of the players on my computer (real player, windows media, etc.) I either get no sound whatsoever, or loud static, with my desired sound very faintly audible in the distant background. Any suggestions???? I've been at it for 2 days and am pretty frustrated.

Anyone have any suggestions?

I haven't even gotten to uploading to YouTube yet. When I preview it on my computer, the sound isn't there. Neither Video Wave nor Copy and Convert are capturing the audio.

Might be a sound card driver issue. We saw something like this back in EMC 8 with nForce audio chipset.

What sound card do you have? Make sure you have updated the drivers and the latest DirectX if you are using WinXP.
