My Toast-burned Dvd Works On Dvd Player But Won't Work On The The Computer Used For Burning?

Question

Odd odd odd...

I successfully burned a DVD on toast that brought in quicktime files, which were successfully converted over to Mpeg-2 files. The DVD burned successfully. Plays beautifully on my (cheap) Philips DVD player with NO problem. Then I put it into my Mac (running 10.5 if that makes a diff) where I BURNED the disc 10 minutes earlier - and the Mac drive wouldn't recognize the disc and kept spitting it out.

Any ideas what THAT is all about?

I've read through the boards and seen that other people had the opposite problem - discs wouldn't play in DVD players, but were fine on the computers. But couldn't find any threads that discussed my problem.

Thanks in advance! Let me know if you need more specifics.

The most likely scenario is that a different brand or type (DVD-R instead of DVD+R or vice versa) will correct this issue. Also you might try burning at a slower than Best speed. The speed is set after the blank disc is inserted and recognized.
