Cannot Delete Cinemastervideo.dll

Cannot delete CinemasterVideo.dll from c:\Common Files\Sonic Shared folder. Everything else uninstalled. Used Uninstall Roxio 9 guidelines from Clean Install post.

 

Error Message:

 

“Cannot Delete CinemasterVideo.DLL Access is Denied

Make sure the disk is not full or write protected

And that the file is not currently in use”

ALWAYS look at the date on threads - the OP hasn't been back here since the start of August.

 

That's usually a good indication that the problem is resolved

reboot in safe mode and delete it from there

... if that does'nt work, navigate to the folder and move it to your destop, reboot and delete it.

 

If you are doing a clean install, there may be several items that won't uninstall even with starting in the safe mode (from experience).

It looks like a process is grabbing hold of the DLL and won't let go. Very common with some software, such as Windows Media Player.

 

The solution I use is a software package called Unlocker. It is free (although it is so useful, you might want to donate a little something). It installs as a shall extension. So when you get a locked file or folder, right-click and select 'Unlocker' from the pop-up menu. Works for me.
