Hi!

Just installed the 8.05 upgrade and finally produced a DVD  . However, it "skips" on playback in my DVD player :D . Is anyone having similar problems, and more importantly, how do I fix this :)

Thanks for any help!

Cathie

Hi, Cathie. Does the DVD play back OK in the same drive that you burned it? If yes, then the disc is probably OK and the reason it skips in your DVD player (which I assume you mean the TV top player) is a compatibility problem. If it plays in the burner, try burning to a different type DVD media (- or +R disc) and possibly even a different brand of disc.

If it skips in the computer DVD player, it could be many things. Just to mention few and the most common, disconnect from the internet and disable any anti-virus programs you may have running before burning to disc. These types of things can interfer with the burn process and cause problems such as skipping. Also, you should try saving to an image file first and then burn that file to disc. Most of us have found that this creates a more reliable disc.

Thanks for your reply, Merv!

Yes, I was refering to playback on a Tv top player. I will try playback on the same drive that I burned to. I will also try disconnecting from the net and also saving the to an image file first!!! I'm new at this and still trying to create my parents' Christmas gift! :)

I will post back with my results!!!!

Have a happy, healthy and prosperous 2006!

Cathie
