How Can I Burn A .mkv File Onto Divx (dvd) Or Dvd?

Hey Folks.

 

Just wondering how I can do the following;

 

I've got a .MKV file (audio/video are both in that file, meaning there isnt'a separate file for audio; ie: .aif - .aac...) and I would like to put burn it either on DVD to play on my dvd player or put it in divx format and burn it on a dvd as my dvd player reads both, divx & dvd.

 

How can I do so?

When I drag the .MKV file into toast 9.0.1 and select DIVX the program freezes...

The thing is I already have Perian 1.1 installed. My MKV file is about 1.32gb... any thoughts?

don't think you could convert the mkv files with Toast.

Toast uses QuickTime to read source files. Installing Perian will help QuickTime read MKV files, which should benefit Toast too.
