malacca73
I read someone complaining here somewhere about Toast only creating 1080i HD discs. Is this correct? If so, if I throw a 1080p video at it, what will happen? Thanks.
revwally
If you give it 1080p30 (29.97) content, it'll encode it at 1080i60. It's not Toast's fault actually - the AVCHD standard doesn't support 1080p30 burning. If you throw 1080p24 (23.98) content, it'll encode it at 1080i60. At least in the case of the PS3, the PS3 allows the AVCHD disc to set the output resolution. I'm not sure if on other players you can force the player to output at 1080p.
