Media Selector Crash

Question

I would like to read from a camcorder DVD-RAM placed in my computer drive and convert format.

When I use the video converter tool, then select the file from the dvd, I get "ROXIO Video Converter has stopped working" error then all windows close exept for the creator 10 home page. Any ideas how to fix this problem.

Copy the DVD-RAM to your hard drive, first.

Do you really have a miniDVD camcorder that copies to DVD-RAM mini discs? I have not heard of that. I thought that DVD-RAM was pretty much an obsolete method of burning, even though the idea MAY have been good.

Yes. This disc came with the panasonic VDR-D220 we bought last year. I figured getting the movie clips into the computer would be easy ?. Can you help. I have placed all three files in the disc ( VR_MOVIE.VRO, VR_MANGR.BUP, and VR_MANGR.IFO) in the public video folder in my desk top.

VR mode could quite possibe be your problem. You should be recording in the other mode offered, I believe.

I am not sure, because I don't have video camcorder that records to discs. Maybe someone else will drop in and offer more help.

Can you fianalize that disc, in your video camcorder?

You can do some reading about .VRO mode, in the following link:

Seems like Media 10 can not translate VRO files. Perhaps that is why that application subroutine crashes when I try to read this format. Anyway, I see if I can get a free translator, perhaps at the microsoft web site.

Thank to all

You're welcome. From now on, record in video mode, not VR.
