how do i convert avi to dvd using roxio 9

If you have Easy Media Creator 9, the easiest way is from the Home menu, go to Video > DivX DVDs.

Ok, I have Easy Media Creator 9 XE,

under Video >

I have:

>Video Guide

Create DVD

Quick DVD

Capture Video

Edit Video

when I go to create DVD I can navigate to a specific avi file,

but I can't highlight and get no message (very annoying) and

when I cut and paste the file name into the add box, I get

a message,

"The file you are tryibng to use cannot be edited, and has not been added"

meantime the avi file plays just fine in Windows media player.

this is very frustrating.

If you are trying to convert the DivX video and burn it to a standard video DVD, I don't think it can be done with the version you have. It looks like your version is a version that came with your computer (a Dell?) and as such is an OEM version which means that it has many of the features of the full retail version disabled. One of these features is the ability to accept DivX avis.

Did your software come with a Mad Dog burner? I'd tell you to contact them, about their stripped down version of the software, but they went belly up.
