Dvd Write Speed

MaxJustMax

Question

Hello,

I'm finally able to use EMC9 after having some install problems. Now my problem is the burn rate. I'm using Creator Classic to do data backup. Simple data disk stuff, y'know. I've got an HP laptop with TSSTcorp TS-L632D with 24x write speed (I think, I can't find any references) , Staples 16x DVD-R discs. Creator Classic says it will burn the disk at 10x but when it starts writing, the speed is shown at 0.7X to 0.8X.

I haven't seen anything in the manual that addresses this and anything on these forums although I suspect it's there but my searches didn't dig it up.

Thanks,

Max

Two suggestions 1) See if there is updated firmware for the burner. 2) Get rid of those cheap discs. (Try Verbatim, TDK or Taiyo Yuden).

See cdanteek's signature for programs that test those burns.
