Toast Not Authoring Blu Ray Video's Properly

cyber

Question

When Blu-ray Video is selected, Toast has a problem with the Menu when authoring. After the disc is burned,

it won't play on regular Blu Ray players because the Menu can't be accessed. The disc will play if "auto play on disc insert" is selected, that's because it bypasses the Menu. For some reason, the Menu can't be accessed when played on a Blu Ray player.

I have the same problem. The menu does not work no matter what settings I tried using Toast 9.04 on Lacie burner and Sony BDP-350. I emailed Roxio for help w/ no luck- they said to check the burner's firmware to be sure it was the latest version, which it was. The Sony is up to date also.

Lame. The problem still persists after re-installing Toast & the HD plug-in as well as updating the firmware on my Sony BDP-s350. Maybe it has to do with the movie file type that we're importing and the way that info is incorporated into the HD menu. Uncompressed 8bit. I can create a working auto play BD with that file type so I doubt that theory. I also have successfully created an SD menu/project on Toast. Running out of ideas and patience.

I too have a Lacie burner and a Sony BD-DVD player model S350 and can't get the disc to play unless it is burned in auto play mode. I'm pulling my files directly off Imovie 6, so I doubt the file source is the problem. My x-box pulls up the menu just fine. My guess is that Rixio overlooked an encoding unique to the Sony model S350.
