Creator 2009 Ultimate?

Question

I just received mail from Roxio about Roxio Creator 2009 (and it seems Creator 2009 Ultimate). Ultimate is the plain version with $300 worth of extras, but I couldn't find what those actually were. That's why I came here.

I also came here to check out what everyone has to say about it and can't find any reference to the product.

What is it? Is it the "next step" in the EMC8, EMC9, EMC10 product line?

I've noticed that Ultimate has only a $20 rebate where the plain version has $30. Seems strange.

Feel free to move this thread to a Creator 2009 specific section, if/when it shows up.

I also received the email to upgrade to Easy Media Creator 2009. I had recently purchased Easy Media Creator 10, and the Dazzle Video capture device. I don't know if I should upgrade to the new version, nor if it will be compativle with the Dazzle device. I have yet to install either of these products since I have been having other Vista and Photoshow related issues.

Any help/advice would be appreciated.

There are not any comparisons on the Roxio web site for users to make an informed decision to upgrade. I would love to see a functional comparison between the last three versions. What has been added and what has been taken out? Just what are the improvements for the $$ that we pay for the upgrade?

In looking at 2009 I see a slicker interface, but the 'guts' are still the same. Main improvements are what are noted on the web site, such as blu ray support, etc. Take it very literally as to what has changed by seeing the NEW! comments. All else is same.....same transitions, same video effects, same, same, same. Hopefully 2009 is more 'bug free' (mine has been working great,no install issues, etc.). From what I can tell, 2009 gives you a few more enhancements but not any 'more' video editing features. From what I read, it seems to utilize multi-core computers and take advantage to speed up the burning process. If HD is something you crave, and you have a multi core, you would benefit. Of course, the deluxe version gives you Bias soap, and a few more features. Your call as to whether it is worth it or not.
