.dat Files

Texas Gal

Question

I have created a large number of slideshows & DVD's using Easy Media Creator 10. I am trying to clean up my system (Windows XP) and am not sure if I can delete the .DAT files that are created and associated with each particular slideshow. I do get a system warning not to delete the file, but I feel that I can without any harm to my system. I would appreciate any help on this matter. My system is so slow and I desperately need to clean up my system. Thanks!

You can delete them. If you open your production again, the .DAT file will be recreated.

You might want to consider getting rid of all those old programs you do not use anymore using Revo Uninstaller.

You can get rid of all those temp and other files hiding in the nooks and crannies of your computer using CCleaner. Don't use the registry cleaner section unless you know what you are doing. You may have to re-enter some passwords if you delete the cookies.

Both are free
