Emc10 Deluxe Dvd Won't Install In Vista 64

HELP!!!

 

I've browsed the forum and can't find a solution to my problem.

 

The installer program crashes during installation. I've tried as administrator, with startup programs disabled through msconfig and through the compatibility wizard.

 

I've not been able to run the clean install program as vista is telling me my system policy forbids it. I've not found where to change that. This is a new computer. I've not installed any other Sonic or Roxio products and there is no evidence of such in the Program Files or User directories.

 

The Problem history in Vista tells me the program needs msvbvm50.dll.

 

Any ideas would be welcome.

OK, I downloaded and installed the dll. Installer is still crashing at the same point in the process. More ideas?
