Editing In Videowave/mydvd

Question

Hi all. I've been a longtime user of version 7.5 and just acquired ver. 9 Does anyone know if you can "lock" up the rest of your production so that if you take out a video frame you don't have to reset everyone in the timeline like overlays a audio tracks (assuming they are note tied to that particular frame)? If I take it out the entire project is thrown off forcing me to spend more hours just straightening it out to get it right!

I've just finished a wedding after days of editing and I found one frame which needs to be thrown out.

I appreciate any suggestions.

One more question, in Mydvd, are there only a certain number of chapters you can have without "overloading" the system? Thanks all.

I haven't found a way to do that, but I've had pretty good results with first checking the duration of what I want to delete, and then either replacing it with something else of the same duration OR extending images or video clips prior to it in the timeline to match the duration of the deleted part. For me this is a bit less frustrating than re-lining up all the overlays and audio again.

That's something I might try though getting the timing right on any replacement frame will be tricky so as not to upset the continguous frames thereafter. You'd think that there would be some way to "lock" up all the other frames or the program makes corrections within to allow for same. Thanks for the advice.

You can lock some things, by putting them on the internal track, but you do have to move music around, unless you have it locked to a single photo.

That's worth a try. Speaking of MyDVD, on version 7.5, if I saved the production on MyDVD having come from Videowave, the Videowave piece was similary modified to reflect the changes done in MyDVD.

In version 9 though, what you do in MyDVD does not affect the original piece in Videowave. That's too bad as I edited further along in MyDVD than in Videowave (a "no no" I know!) requiring me to re=edit the Videowave piece again. Bummer! Thanks for your input Grandpa Bruce!

In EMC 7.5, any editing done to a Videowave project that has been added to DVD Builder (not myDVD) does not affect the original Videowave project. This is the same behaviour in EMC 8, 9 and 10
