No Sound

Question

I use a Hauppauge WinTV Capture Card fed by composite video from the Comcast Box and the audio fed to a Creative PC128 Sound Card Line-In jack. All works fine. However when I use Roxio Capture to record the TV program I get an .mpg file but when played there is no sound on the file. The Capture Settings in the Roxio Capture Program are set to take audio from the Creative Line-In port. Why don't I have sound on the .mpeg file? Do I need additional drivers. Also, shouldn't the file be an Mpeg-2 file? Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

What you need to do is capture from your Hauppauge card, using WinTV2000. I do.

Roxio does not fully support Hauppauge and you're better off using the software that came with your card to capture. Take a look at GBPVR for a great, free alternative. I take my mpeg captures with my PVR500 right into MyDVD and get great results.
