You can adjust the length of the text window when viewing the timeline by dragging the right edge of the text window to the left or a much better way is to add the text to the internal track of the picture panel. I think that if you switch to the StoryBoard view..... when you drag a text it will automatically be added to the internal track and stay with the picture even if you move the picture.
