Help With Avi Video Size

Hey hi I have a problem. I am trying to put 14 avi (27 minutes ,total time 6h 19m)videos (270-290 mb, total size 4.12gb) in a dvd using my dvd but when i add a video it increases the file size from 270mb to 1.9gb and after i put the other 13 videos it comes with a total size of 9.3gb. I tried to burn it to a dvd but i was not able to do it and i tried to burn in a image file this message comes up "The estimated size is larger than the disc capacity. If you continue, content may be truncated. Are you sure?" i click ok but this other message comes up "The project size exceeds the media capacity." is there any way I can add the videos with the original size so they fit into a 4.7 dvd? or something i can do to be able to burn it in a image file so i later use the burn disc image to disc?

I have been able to make 6+ hours videos using ConvertXtoDvd 3 but i was hoping that i will be able to do the same thing using roxio easy media creator. the quality is not an issue since it is anime. well thanks i guess i will have to use 2 discs since i dont know where to get double layer lightscribe dvds

You would need a DL burner for it anyway. Do you have one?

 

What format were you converting to - DivX will put that much on a single sided disc in good quality but it has to be played on a computer or a DVD player that will handle the DivX format. EMC 10 does have the capability to output video files to DivX format.

 

I haven't used DivX but I think you have to use DivX Author to put a menu on the disc. That is not included in EMC 10 (cost $20 in the US)

The rule of thumb is 1 hour of video, at best quality, on a standard 4.7GB DVD. I have no clue if you can get 6+ hours of video on a standard DVD, because I have never tried, and probably won't.

Even the movie industry puts out two disc's sets when they have a loooooooong movie!

The absolute maximum amount of time on a single 4.7GB disc for MyDVD is about 3 hr and 19min. For 8.5GB disc, you can get about 6hr and 3 min. With that much video, the quality wouldn't be very good.
