Ijar
This may be the last thing you ever read: Large Hadron Collider fires up in minutes... http://techblog.dallasnews.com/archives/20...-thing-you.html http://www.boston.com/bigpicture/2008/08/t...n_collider.html Edited September 10, 2008 by Ijar
Brendon
Nah! Like the End of the World, it didn't - not that we would have known if it did. It looks like I'll still be here when tomorrow starts
Beerman
As sick a world as we are, we will certainly have more time to become worse before all is over. I'm sticking to an asteroid ending it all for us. Of course, the Mayan calender ends in May 2012, so maybe you still have something to look forward to. gi7omy
We'll all know by Wednesday (or we won't be around to know) Just remember - CERN also gave us the web and look how that degenerated ;P
vid2man97
I certainly hope not. There's an F1 race in Italy this weekend that I'd surely hate to miss!
Guest ml
We'll all know by Wednesday (or we won't be around to know) If it's going to end, it won't be til they actually get two particles to collide and that won't be til the end of the year. So we're going to have to wait a while longer to find out if the world has ended. I guess that means I'm still going to have to prepare in case Hurricane Ike changes course and heads my way. Maybe the collider is the reason for Hurricane Ike! I saw a program about it last night and for the life of me I can't comprehend why we have to know the things it is suppose to tell us. Is it going to feed the hungry, house the homeless, stop wars, save the planet? Yep, I'm getting old.
Ijar
When you switch on the Large Hadron Collider, five billion quids' worth of particle accelerator, you get a pause and a fuzzy white dot.... First Beam For Large Hadron Collider, World's Mightiest Particle Accelerator And we are still here...
