Uninstall 2008 After Install Creator 2009 ?

netmation

Question

Can you uninstall Roxio 2008 after installing 2009. There are so many different Roxio titles in the ADD/REMOVE list I would think this could be difficult determining what stays and what goes?

Would be nice if Roxio install would give the option to uninstall the old version first like most other software products do IMO.

I presume you are talking about EMC 10

You can remove it if you wish, but you can run both suites in parallel

Thje multitude of entries btw was at the behest of Microsoft (that's how they wanted it for Vista - why they changed their minds is a mystery)

Actually 2 entries in add/remove for EMC 2009:

EMC 11 content

Roxio Creator 2009 Ultimate (or without the word Ultimate if you don't have that).

If you are removing EMC 10, don't forget first to uninstall EMC 10 Content.

I did point out quite some time ago that it would have been helpful to have named the content items in add/remove starting with the word 'Roxio' so they would appear together with the other Roxio items...

I have Roxio Creator 2009 and EMC 10 on my system and see all the following in ADD REMOVE programs. If I want to get rid of version 10 I should even delete the Roxio Update Manager, and Roxio CinePlayer Decoder Pack?

EMC 10 Content

Roxio Central Audio

Roxio Central Copy

Roxio Central Core

Roxio Central Data

Roxio Central Tools

Roxio CinePlayer Decoder Pack

Roxio Creator 2009

Roxio Disc Gallery

Roxio Easy Meida Creator 10 Suite

Roxio MediaShare

Roxio Update Manager

May not have EMC 11 Content yet since I have not saved anything yet with Roxio?? Maybe a better solution would be to leave it all on here and wait for EMC 12, then delete all of it prior to installing that should I remember this next year. Thanks for the help.

If you don't see EMC 11 content in add/remove, it may mean that you have not installed the content (additional menus, transitions, clipart, etc. for Videowave, MyDVD and Photosuite) for EMC 2009.

Depending on how you got the software, it is either a second CD or a second download installer file.

But if you got EMC 2009 on a DVD, that would contain the content with the software and it would (I think) install the lot in one go. I don't know if it would then create a separate EMC 11 content entry in add/remove, as I have not installed that way.

How can I tell by looking at the software or directory if I have CONTENT installed? I believe my box only came with one CD/DVD. Don't have it in front of me right now and not sure if it was a DVD or CD. But don't recall any options to install CONTENT.

Open MyDVD, click change menu style. If you have only a few menus to choose from, Content is not installed. If you have ~80, it is installed.

It's still called MyDVD, but on the main page, you have to click on Create DVDs-Advanced.

On the main page I don't see Create DVD's Advanced. I can click the DATA - COPY tab and under CREATE I see BURN DATA DISC - ADVANCED, but once in there I don't see anything that says CHANGE MENU STYLE.

Sorry for my confusion.

When you open Creator 2009, you should see the following screen, and Create DVD's - Advanced is right there. If you click on the Video-Movies button, on the left side, you should see what is in the 2nd image, below:

When you open Creator 2009, you should see the following screen

Oh I see my problem now. The first screen changes, it depends on what are your frequently used programs. That is why I did not see it, my menu does not look like yours. I hate software that does that, thinking they know what is best . Thanks.
