Creator 2009 Working Great In Vista X64 (64 Bit)

MisterTee

Question

Having noticed a few questions regarding Creator 2009 with Vista x64 (64 bit) I thought I'd throw in my 2¢ worth. I installed the download version yesterday afternoon and in spite of my worst fears the entire process went flawlessly. Not a single error message during any phase of the 4 part install which included the program itself, ms net 3.5, content pack, and the HD plugin. As for the operation and functionality of the program itself, yesterday I created one or more detailed test projects with each of the primary modules (VideoWave, Music Disc Creator, MyDVD, PhotoSuite, Sound Editor, etc.) and so far (again to my amazement) not a single error, warning, crash, stall, or slowdown in the workflow. Lastly, the overall speed from end-to-end (launching the suite, launching individual modules, applying effects, editing, rendering, burning etc.) has been excellent. A huge improvement versus any version of EMC I've ever used (and I go all the way back to Easy CD Creator Version 3). I'm not crazy enough to believe I'll never encounter an error or crash but at the risk of sounding like a Roxio salesman, you could say I'm very excited about Creator 2009 ;-)

BTW, before ordering online I poked around for a discount code and found ROXIO15 which (when applied at time of purchase) instantly knocks $15 off the price. AFAIK it would work for the boxed version as well.

I have looked at the Amazon reviews in which there are only 3 so far. 2 People gave Easy Media Creator 2009 5 stars. Seems like so far this program could be better than the previous versions. I would get Easy Media Creator 10 cause it can be had for no more than $30-40 on ebay for a new copy. Most versions had some sort of bugs. I never really though of Media Creator as a good program like version 9 and 10 just by looking at all the amazon reviews of people having problems. If it Easy Media Creato 2009 ends being a really good program I would get it once somewhere like Best Buy or Circuity City gets has for around $50.

I would wait till around Thanksgiving too see if any of them will be further discounting the product more than $20. I would get EMC 2009 cause Sony Vegas 9 is better than Sony 8 but I doesn't offer huge improvements. I have Sony Vegas 8 but it can't edit with a white box. When I do use Chroma Key I use the white box function. If EMC has this that would be nice. It's at a cheaper price but I think it only does 4 tracks total. Ulead has version 12 of there VideoStudio which also just came out recently but not sure about that. I would go with Cyberlink PowerDirector or Magix Movie Edit Pro cause they both have special websites where you can download objects and backgrounds for your video.

Hi,

I have Vista 64bit and i love it works great. I had version 10 before and 9 too never had to much of a problem. Once in a while old versions a hangup from now and then. Im not happy with there loads times though the program is slow to load always has been. On a machine with core 2 duo at 2.6 and 8gb of 1000mghz ram should load quicker.

BJH - loading times of any app aren't really down to the number of cores or the amount of RAM - the deciding factor is 'how fast can the machine read it into RAM from the hard drive'

Now even though you have super fast RAM - it's still down to the access time for the hard drive and nothing you can do, at present, will be able to overcome that. Perhaps in the future when flash memory replaces the mechanical drives, but who knows

The number of cores is irrelevant - there are very few apps that take advantage of SMPs (and even fewer that are true 64 bit apps). What does make a difference in the end is the amount of Level 2 cache on the cores - the more there is of that, the faster the CPU will execute any instructions

HAve no idea what a 'white' box is. Explain please and yes, Videowave has had chroma keying for several versions and it will 'key' any color you choose. In fact, Videowave can key 3 color for more accuracy.

Videowave has a total of 11 video tracks: One main video track, 5 overlay tracks and then 5 overlay track on an internal track. These can all hold separate images.

The other things is does Easy Media Creator come with animations? You have programs like Powerdirector and Movie Edit Pro. Both companies that makes those products offer there own websites you can download dvd templates, title templates, objects, video backgrounds, etc. You get all these cool things you can add to your video most companies don't offer. You could get Sony Vegas 9 which a reliable program but what benefits does it offer? besides being reliable? I like the idea of programs like Powerdirector where you can do more than just edit your video and add titles or effects. Most of the motion objects and others things are just cool to have more so than being useful
