Converting Video In Convert Video To Mpeg4 For Ipod Stretching Video Vertically?

Here's what I'm trying to do: Convert video from my hard drive to mpeg4 to put on my ipod. The results is the the video is squished horizontally (or, put another way, stretched vertically). Is there a way to make it fit the ipod screen? I have done it in the past but do not know what setting has changed to make it stretched. Using Creator 10.

Is the original video 16:9? I'm not familiar with newer iPods, but all the ones I've seen are 4:3. What you are describing sounds like you are playing a widescreen video on a 4:3 device that doesn't know how to handle it. You can force 16:9 to 4:3 by starting with a 4:3 project.

 

Open Videowave

Create a 4:3 project

Add your 16:9 video and you should have black bars at top and bottom

Now output to MP4.

 

That should play correctly.
