Upgrading From Creator 7 To Creator 10

Scotch

Question

I've loaded C10 without removing C7 wish I suspect was a mistake. C10 won't even start up and my C7 saved files seem corrupted. I read a group posting that removing all previous version Creator software from your computer prior to loading C10 seems to do the trick, but I'm concerned about my older projects and works in progress; will C10 adopt them and allow me to proceed uninterrupted? Or am I screwed and need to start those projects from scratch? Any help would be appreciated.

There is no problem having EMC 7 and EMC 10 on your system: they exist happily along-side each other.

BUT...

EMC 10 will not accept (most) EMC 7 project files so you will have to finish the EMC 7 files in EMC 7 or restart them from scratch in EMC 10

Rhe only problem that could arise with EMC 7.x being installed is with Internet Explorer 7 and Media Player 11 - both of these effectively kill off the video parts of EMC 7.

If you have these, uninstall them (if you have installed SP3 after installing either, you will have to uninstall SP3 first and then remove IE7 and WMP11)
