treat_with_respect
I recorded important family video on a dvd handy cam.I was trying to make copies on my computer using 'Roxio' programme I have two dvd drives. For some reason I stopped the burning process and now I ended up with my original dvd 'cdfs' file system it doesn't play at all. Again I tried to burn dvd it says there are no files but I can see my original dvd is still full & there are no free space. My questions are how did my original dvd turned into cdfs file system and where is the original data gone ? And is it possible to recover my orginal files? Did you try shutting down and restarting your system? What about if you put it into the "other" drive? Will it play in a standalone DVD player? It's possible just restarting everything may make it work if the drive is just in a "weird" state, but I'd make sure to actually cycle power, not just reboot. Let us know if that helps. If it doesn't, then one of the recovery applications mentioned fairly regularly here, CD Roller, or ISO Buster may recover your data.
