Install Stops At 99%

I purchased the download method of installation, but the download stops at 99% and hangs ("not responding"). I'm running on XP, and I uninstalled my previous edition of EMC 10.

Also, when I try to use the Windows Install Clean Up program, it shows Roxio, etc. but when I try to remove them there's an error code and they aren't removed. I've gone in and removed all the Roxio/Sonic files and folders I can find, including those that are "hidden," but the install continues to hang.

Any suggestions?

Since it's hanging at the end, it might be that it's trying to add icons to the desktop or pop up some message so turn off all antivirus, malware, spyware and internet security programs and try again (after you've cleaned up what was previously installed).
