Visconti12
I have got a Windows (XP SP3) error message while opening and also closing CinePlayer. I have done a clean installation and even updated to MS Networkframe 3.5 SP1 recently. Message: App Name: cineplayer.exe ModName: quartz.dll Any solution or suggestion? 0 gi7omy
updated to MS Networkframe 3.5 SP1 recently. Message: App Name: cineplayer.exe ModName: quartz.dll Any solution or suggestion? That could be the problem - this has been reported in the Creator 2009 forum as removing a critical .dll file
0 Visconti12
Do you mean to remove "quartz.dll"? This is a dll needed for the execution of CP, isn't it? So I'm afraid this bug/issue must be solved by Roxio developers asap.
0 Jim_Hardin
No, the file cited by PoweredByLaser was the milcore.dll, missing. Do you still have that one? You could also run a test with the quartz.dll renamed to quartz.d and see what happens. If nothing changes, name it back.
0 Visconti12
Yes, milcore.dll (v6.0.6001.17014) is located in System32 folder. As for quartz.dll (v5596) I've renamed it, run a test and found that now the result is worse... Received a CinePlayer.exe application error message of memory at "0x0087000c". Then renamed it back and done a System Restore as well but nothing change/happen. The error remains there appearing right after closing CP. Any other solution or suggestion? (I'm running Win XP SP3 Spanish)

(I'm running Win XP SP3 Spanish) Your milcore.dll seems to be the same as mine but I am without SP3… I would printout the Clean Install instructions and carefully go through them step by step. There may just be something that was missed before or something that did not quite take as it should… XP
0 gi7omy
It's possible that quartz.dll may be corrupt - check this website for a guide to errors and also downloading a replacement http://www.dll-files.com/dllindex/dll-files.shtml?quartz

0 Visconti12
OK, I'll try to replace quartz.dll as Gi7omy suggestion. Otherwise I'll make a new clean reinstall. Actually I've done a first first install after removing REMC10. It will be tomorrow when returned back to site. Question: There are several quartz.dll files in my system, different locations and different versions. Is this normal? (FYI C2009 is working fine in another PC on Win XP Tablet Edition 2005 SP3). 0 gi7omy
I'm only showing one C:\Windows\System32\quartz.dll Properties for it ara 1.22MB (1,288,192 bytes) version 6.5.2600.5596 Oh and for the benefit of cyberber - while the help was well-meaning, this is not the place to put rapidshare links Edited September 24, 2008 by gi7omy
0 Visconti12
As I said earlier, I've got the one in System32\ and another 2 in different location. I'll check it on my PC tomorrow. But exactly the same situation is working fine on Win Tablet Edition 2005 SP3. Maybe I'll try a new and deeper clean install. Comment: What do you mean about rapidshare links? I didn't post anyone here!!
0 firenhancer
Try doing a manual install of DX9 by running "dxsetup.exe" going into installer folder \DirectX_Nov07 within C2009 installer.
0 Visconti12
OK, I'll try it before the other .dll replacement. Anyway I've done a manual install of CP as Windows pop-up the installer function while trying to run a DVD movie. After CP execution and view of the movie, receive the same error message of topic tittle.

0 Visconti12
Hi again. There is no way with new quartz.dll file replacement. I've got same error. I've no option but to try a very deep clean install.

0 Visconti12
Did you try installing DX9 as previously suggested? If yes, what was the result? Yes, I've tried both: update to latest quartz.dll file and install DirectX9 (June08) but not success. The issue reproduces randomly, 8 times out of 10 CP executions... I'll try another clean reinstall.
0 Visconti12
Finally I've done a clean reinstall of Creator 2009 but error reappears randomly (2 times out of 10). The error given by Windows pop-up is same as previous install. (DirectX and quartz.dll fully updated) Any further idea or suggestion? 0 firenhancer
Not sure if this helps, but I suggest give it a shot and see how it goes. Edited October 10, 2008 by firenhancer
0 Visconti12
Not sure if this helps, but I suggest give it a shot and see how it goes. Thanks for your suggestion. I have tried to use several quartz.dll but no success. It reproduces randomly. I believe this issue should be given to developers to be fixed.
