Trouble Burning To Dvd (encoding Error 800700e)

Shane Stevens

Question

Hello,

I was wondering if anyone could help me? I have prepared a Slide Show in Videowave for my mother's 60th Birthday. It contains about 680 photos and has 12 tracks. There is also transitions and text. I am using a DVD-RW disc and I have Windows XP Professional.

After sending the Project to My DVD Express and finalising the Menu the Project then takes approximately 30 minutes to encode it when it gets to the end an error code comes up saying Problem Encoding Error 800700e. I have tried to do this 4 times now with the same error code. I have made other Slide Shows and have not had this problem. I need this Slide Show finished urgently so I can give it to my mother for her Birthday. I has spent hours on it so am desperate to find a solution.

I have read through the other forum responses and someone said it is a problem with the Menu and that "Render Software" should fix the problem. I do believe that it is a problem with the Menu. Can anyone help me with this?

I am computer iliterate so you will really need to talk me through it step by step.

Look forward to hearing from anyone who could help.

Melissa.

First, save your production in VideoWave, and close VideoWave. Now, open MyDVD, not the express version, click on Add Movie, and browse to where you saved your VideoWave file, and bring it in. It will have a .dmsm file extension.

Make any changes to the menu you want.

At the bottom of the screen, change the Fit to Disc to High Quality (HQ). Click on the Burn button, uncheck the Burn to Disc box, and put a check in Save Image Disc, box. Make a folder for the file that will be saved, at a location somewhere on your computer. Browse to that folder, select that folder, then click on Burn.

Once the file is created and saved, burn it to a DVD, using Video Copy and Convert.

If you get that same error, as before, update your video card drivers, and try again.

If you still get it, then you have to do the following:

In MyDVD, click on Tools/Options, then click in the circle to the left of Software, under Render....

Hit the burn button, do what I listed above, and it should work now. You will, however, lose any 3-D transitions that you have in your production.
