Slideshow Assistant Workaround For Tv Overscan Area

Question

I've been playing around with an easier way to downsize images for the TV Overscan Area, and came up with a Slideshow Assistant workaround. Some of the experienced users here recommend against using the Slideshow Assistant, so ymmv. It also only resizes to one size, which is completely within the TV Overscan Area in VideoWave. Thanks to RCD74 for pointing that out. So, if you want the images to reach closer to the edges on your tv, you might want to output it in video format, add it back in VideoWave as an Overlay, and then stretch it to your custom size.

OK, if you are still reading, here is what I did:

Start the Slideshow Assistant

Step 1. Add images, and if you want panels, text, rearrange, etc.

Step 2. Chose Travel Album, set a duration, and Uncheck Apply Pan and Zoom. (You can also use the Portfolio theme, thanks jeanrosenfeld for pointing that out.)

Step 3. Choose Edit in VideoWave.

The Travel Album (or Portfolio) theme resizes the images to fit inside the Travel theme border, and once in VideoWave, you can delete the Travel or Portfolio overlay and the images remain downsized in the production. Then you can change the background to whatever you want in the Production settings, so you can have whatever border/background you like.

Here is a sample that was done as above in the Slideshow Assistant and just changes the background color,

And video tip to resize for the TV Overscan Area, in case the above didn't make sense, or you just like my video tips :D
