firenhancer
1. Try using a different brand of CD media. If using CDRW, try CDR. 2. Update firmware on the drive if necessary to the recent one.
retardedgenius
Thank you firenhancer. I spent all day today looking for the answer and finally came to the conclusion that I need easy cd creator 5. Do you think that will work? I keep hearing plexwriter doesn't work with XP. Also, just the opposite. Maybe it's plextor that doesn't work with XP. Someone said plexwriter is just generic cd-burning hardware, but I don't know. He's lied to me before. I don't have any software at present to go with this drive. I'll check out firmware. thanks rg 1. Try using a different brand of CD media. If using CDRW, try CDR. 2. Brendon
Mr Genius, What's the actual ID of your drive? In XP, go into Device Manager and click on the small + alongside the DVD/CD-ROM drives icon, and the Drive IDs of your CD or DVD drive(s) will be shown. Please post in full the exact entry shown there. Regards, Brendon
firenhancer
Can you provide details on what you really intend to do? Do you intend to back up data, burn music CD etc? Most new recorders are supported by major version of Roxio. As far as your current recorder is concerned, it appears few years old and could have been supported by older versions. However, I doubt you will be able to acquire a copy. Based on what you intend to do, further suggestions could be provided. These days you can actually purchase a DVD burner can be purchased for $
