Question

I used Roxio 2009 to scan some photos Then used VideoWave to create a slide show and burn it to a DVD disk.

The photos were 4 X 6. When I run the show on TV the pictures are too small. Is there a way to make the picture show larger on the Tv? Project Setting Format 4:3. Don't have a wide screen Tv.

The Pictures from my digital camera shoe great on the TV in the same slide show.

I must be missing something.

Thanks in advance for any help.

I agree. It sounds like the OP is scanning the entire 8 1/2 by 11 or by 14 scan area rather than doing a preview, selecting the scan area, and then scanning just that. I did that when I was just starting out.

If the OP does have a scanner problem, or has already scanned a lot of pictures, the OP can use Photosuite to select only the image area, cut it from the page and insert it onto a new canvas.

Also remember to account for the TV safe zone.

Well gentlemen thanks for the help. Nothing wrong with the program or scanner. It was the operator(cock pit problems). A couple of years back I scanned several hundred pictures and made several slide shows.

This time around I keep making the same error in the setup. I could not see the forest for the trees.

Been working with Roxio several years and never had much problem with the program once I get it set up proper on my computer and I do my part.

Thanks again

When you look at the preview screen in Videowave, don't the photos cover the entire screen ? And do they have the black borders (again, in Videowave)??

If you look at the scanned photo as a preview in (Vista or XP) what do they look like there ?

Frank...

Thanks Frank,

I am running XP

When I view them in the preview they fill in 25% of the bottom right corner. I had a couple of pictures I had to rotate and they appear in the top left 25% of the view area.

How does the picture appear when viewed in Windows Picture and Fax viewer?

From your description it almost seems as in the picture only is in 1/4 of the scanned area.

Frank thanks for the prompt reply.

I tried several programs to view the pictures and they all appear the same.

I have a feeling I have a scanner problem. I will check if they have any new drivers.

Thanks a lot for sticking with me.

I don't necessarily think its a scanner problem but seems more a problem in how you are doing the scan.

First off 2009 doesn't scan anything so I assume you meant you used a "scanner" to scan your 4 x 6 photos, then inserted them into the Videowave program. Many times photos are taken by a camera that does not have a 4:3 ratio, but rather something else (example 3:2). These photos when placed in Videowave most always have some sort of black border. And when you suggest that the photos when shown on your TV are too small, does that mean that all of the photos don't show completely or are cropped in some manner ?? How do these same pictures look like when you preview them in Videowave and MyDVD ??

Frank I used a cannon scanner. With older versions of VideoWave I would get maybe half the Tv screen with black borders which was great. That was with old color pictures and B/W pictures. I am now getting very small pictures showing in one corner of the Tv.

The pictures are complete (no croping) but small in VideoWave and on the tv.

Thanks, NI4H
