iibw
I have a HD video that's about 10 minutes long. Is it possible to burn a blu ray compliant disc on a standard DVD-R using DVDit Pro HD? If so, how?
SGDV
tsMuxeR will allow you to create the necessary file/directory structure (I think only one clip). Then, you can just burn it to dvd. Also, I believe not all BD standalone players will play the dvd so your mileage may vary. Added: You probably will need to lower the bitrate of the clip. http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=134104 With the proper encoding bitrate you can deliver BD content on DVD, including menus. I offer this to my clients as an option to full blu-ray pricing. Keep in mind, if the project has fast motion and flashing it will have issues much like the HD codec used by Satellite and Cable. I'm sure you have seen this. My clients are mostly corporate and fast action is not an issue. I have been delivering BD content on both BD and DVD for approximately 2 years now. NO returns. As far as players being able to play the file...I do know that the Sony line will play them without issue. The main point is the encoding bit rate. I can not stress that enough. I do know that I can do this through Encore CS3, I have not attempted this in a long time with DVDITPROHD. I just author as normal with the mpg2HD that I provide and create an image file. After that burn to disc through a image burning program.
