Update to the latest version of Direct X from the Microsoft website below. http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details...;displaylang=en 2.) Update your video drivers. (this is important) To find out what video device you need to update you can click on start, run, and type "dxdiag" and press enter. Click the display tab at the top of that window and that will tell you the manufacturer of your video device. Then visit the manufacturer's website for the latest drivers. 3.)Disable your startup items using MSCONFIG For Windows Vista: Click on the Vista start icon in the bottom left corner of your screen. Type MSCONFIG in the search box and then either press enter on your keyboard or double-click on the MSCONFIG program that appears in the search results. For Windows XP: Click on the "Start" button and select "Run". Type "msconfig" and click on the "OK" button or press the "Enter" key. a. Select the "Startup" tab. b. Write down which items are checked, and then click on the "Disable All" button in the lower right corner of the screen. c. Click on the "Apply" button and then click on "OK". d. Click "YES" to restart the computer. e. When you reach the Desktop, you may receive a message saying "you have used the "System Configuration Utility" to make changes to your system....", you get this message, simply place a checkmark in a box on the lower left side titled, "Do not show me this message again" and click on the "OK" button. NOTE: To reverse these changes, follow steps a to c, and then place the checkmarks back in the boxes. For optimal performance, only Anti-Virus or Firewall software should be enabled. 0 Travis R
1. Uninstall .Net 3.5 SP1 and only install .Net 3.5 2. Try this The dll that article refers to isn't present on my system so no need to rename. I have already re-installed .NET 3.5 and then the program. I did not mean to make it sound like I have re-installed .net 3.5 SP1. Travis

0 JJPMan
I Have the same problem and I have tried the clean install, downloaded the latest directX, and ran the diagnostics. The software crash indicates a missing DLL as stated in the dump information. I hate to sound tough, however I am wasting an incredible amount of my time and resources searching for a fix for this. I am lamenting the day I bought Roxio right now. Please, Roxio folks, you have heard about this issue in the thread above ~ 3 weeks ago. Please someone post the answer! (why I didn't buy Nero???... I should burn my fingers for downloading Roxio!). As a Software Program Manager I would not hesitate to warn off my fellow bit heads from this software right now. An immediate post with a fix would salvage some of Roxio's reputation with me. Here is the dump information: EventType : clr20r3 P1 : roxiocentralfx.exe P2 : 4.12.0.0 P3 : 48a05348 P4 : roxiocentralfx P5 : 0.0.0.0 P6 : 48a05348 P7 : 17e P8 : 12 P9 : system.dllnotfoundexception Please send a reply with a fix soonest.... 0 gi7omy
The dll problem was caused by MS when they put the patch out for dotNET 3.5 - that took out a needed .dll Cure:- UNINSTALL dotNET 3.5 COMPLETELY as well as dotNET 2 Service Pack (both SP1 and the original) and then let 2009 install its version dotNET 3.5 includes the SP for 2 (strange but that's Redmond for you)
0 Skyline
The clean installation is not the solution for this problem. The problem is the 2009 version requires .NET 3.0 SP1 and .NET 3.5 (not .NET 3.5 SP1). 1.1 Uninstall .NET 3.5 (any Service Pack). 1.2 Uninstall .NET 3.0 (any Service Pack). 2.1 Install .NET 3.0 http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details...;displaylang=en 2.2 Install .NET 3.0 SP1 http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details...;displaylang=en 2.3 Install .NET 3.5 http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details...;displaylang=en 3. Restart the computer. Hope this information could save your day. Have a nice day!
