8004520c Error While Encoding Movie

G-Spear

Question

At first if I tried to burn a disk after editing I would get this Error Message and I would have to close the program and then reopen to get it to burn, and I still have to. Now if I try to build my own Menu I get this error message, closing the program does not help. I must use a pre made style menu or it won't burn the disk.

I wrote in and asked for help and they sent me here.... <_<

Thanks...I hope someone can help.

In my DVD switch to software rendering (top menu, tools, options). When you go to burn, select to create an ISO file. Name it and be sure you remember where it will be placed.

If it doesn't encode, then there is a problem with something either in the project or in the menu you made. (you aren't using any Itunes or other music in the production are you?) Did you use Video Wave to create the project. Go back there, load the project and chose to output the project to a mpg2 for DVD, best file. If there is a problem in that project then you can note where the problem occurs and fix it. There is no easy way to do that if you made the project in My DVD.

If the ISO encodes, download and run that ISO file in VLC Free player. It it looks OK then use VC&C or Creator Classic to copy that ISO file to a blank, good quality, disc.

Don't do anythng else during video work and turn off your anti-vious and anti-malware. Make sure you have lots of free space on a defragged hard drive.

Thanks for the info...I tried changing to software rendering and burned a sideshow with a menu I chose and it burned first time, so I think it helped.

Yes: I am using music on the audio track (not Itunes) and this is a real problem I am having with the program;

when I go to my files to choose a music track the list or page scrolls to the bottom. It will not stop jumping to the bottom of the page, if I am real fast with the mouse I can select a file and get it into the sideshow. My music files don't act like this in any other program I have, just EMC 10...

Thanks again for your time,

Greg

Well, I'm glad that that worked. Now for the second question.

When you talk about the audio track, do you mean in the project or on the custom menu you make? If on the custom menu, make sure you delete the current audio before adding your personalized audio. Read this.

What application are you in when you are trying to search/add an audio file? MyDVD, Video Wave, Slide Show Assistant? I don't remember anyone else having this problem but I'm getting old and sometimes forget. Needless to say, I'm not seeing this performance problem. Once it scrolls down, can't you scroll back up to select the music?

Are you selecting your music or are you using Smart Sounds? When you select the your music, are you looking in "folders" or "My Media", If My Media, are you selecting music or all media? Can you expand the window horizontally or vertically? Can you change to a different file display (thumbnails, details, tiles)? Have you tried the search button at the top of the window? Do you have a slider bar on the right?

If you are using Video Wave to make the slide show: Are you using Media Selector or add background audio.
