Having finally successfully installed EMC10 following clean install using Windows Installer Cleanup Utility the programme ran for 2 days and then stopped at start up, showng a registration window, which can not be exited from, when the computer is disconnected from the internet EMC10 loads and runs OK.

I heard of that happening with the Dell version of the software? Where did you get the software?

I came here looking for a solution to the same problem...

I just got a DELL XPS 420 with EMC 10 installed. Anytime I click to launch one of the Roxio programs

(any of the Roxio programs), I get the registration window that freezes and the only way to get out of it is to reboot.

I even reinstalled EMC 10 and the same thing happens.

I tried the DX9 trick and a box pops up telling me wrong OS.

I'm seriously considering uninstalling Roxio and installing NERO...

It sounds like a problem with the Dell version. Go to their website, and see if they have any fixes.

If you get Nero, you will have to pay for it, unlike the EMC 10 version that you got from Dell, which was free.

Hello, its me again, EMC 10 mysteriously now launches, so would guess Roxio recognised the problem and automatically corrected it downloading a patch, each time we launch Roxio while connected to the Internet the programme logs in, that`s Ok, I can live with that if it corrects the problem.

I purchased EMC9 and then EMC10 from Retailer and all ran perfectly for 1 year till recently reinstalling all to new Hard Drive, all ran well for several weeks then fault began, have clean uninstalled and all runs well for several days till fault begins again, I think EMC10 connects to Roxio server each time it launches and only when I prevent this does the programme run, otherwise at programme launch the registration window appears, `connecting to server`, then programme locks up, only way out is to reboot and then disconnect from internet till programme is launched - HP. XPPro. 3.0GhzCPU. 3.0GbRAM. 250GbHD.

Glad to hear that you are good to go. I don't experience the anomaly that you are experiencing, though.
