Fishead
Hello- I'm using Creator Classic 6 that came bundled OEM (XP Home w/ SP2) with my 2003 HP Laptop. I used it for a long time trouble-free, great even! About 1 year ago my sys got a virus and I had to go through the lessons learned cleaning it out...virus free for long time now. However, during the process of ridding my sys of bugs I had to update Java Runtime to accommodate an AV program install. Once I did that Creator Classic cried foul if I remember correct and I was prompted to upgrade...typical Murphy's computer revolt scenario... This seems to have transformed my Creator Classic into Creator Spastic, and effected the CD read/write drivers somehow...meaning the drive has become 'choosy' about CD's it will read, and burns often fail. I did at some point a while back attempt to run down the fix by "updating" to Version 6.1.1.48 though I can't recall how I arrived at that...guessing through a legacy driver/only support link. I have also uninstalled/reinstalled to latest JavaRuntime to rule that out. Anyway, I'm stumped and unable to read my original OS disc even to reinstall the original from disc version in even it may have somehow become corrupted. Any advise!?!?! Many thanks for any feedback, Fishead
Jim_Hardin
Software works or it does not. It is not likely that this is a software issue. You burner is probably on the way out. Might explain why you can't read a disc with it?
