Question

Hello to all, I'm a newbie, and I'm having trouble. I have a .avi file I want to burn to DVD, however, when using My DVD I can't seem to get rid of the menu/ background and audio. I just want to burn my file as is to DVD. i do not need an menu or intro. I have approx. 10 disc coasters right now. The burned coasters will play fine when using Win. Media Player, but when I try to view on a standard DVD player, the copied file on the disc plays the menu/ background intro and audio. It will not continue. It stops and restarts all over. I have tried several diffrent things, and refuse to pay Roxio Support any more $$ to get this to work. Can anyone please advise me on what to do to make it work? Any advice or suggestions will greatly be appreciated.

Regards,

Donnie B

Open the MyDVD application. Choose DVD no menus Project. Select the avi file. Then select the appropriate Disc size and High Quality (see bottom part of MyDVD). Click the Burn icon on top. Burn to an image file. Then use Video Copy and Convert to burn the image file onto DVD.

okay, i have tried to follow your advice, however, after clicking on "dvd, no menus" and clicking "yes "to save the changes, I can't find the avi file saved on my desktop . I even tried copying the file to my documents and I still do not see it. If I minimize everything I can see the file on my desktop, any suggestions?

hello again Malatekid, I followed your steps accordingly with the exception of burning the image to file and then using copy & convert and it worked out great. I really appreciate your advice and assistance. I don't have a lot of spare time to play with this software and study it, like I should. I want too, however I just don't have the time. Would it be okay to contact in the future should I need more assistance?
