Sound Editor To Capture Analog Input (cassettes, Lps, Etc)

whynot2

Question

I admit, for up, I'm a lot more into using the new technology that experimenting with the new technology.

I bought Creator 2009 and got it installed after a scare or two. I bought it because I couldn't get my belovedly familiar EMC 7 installed on my new Vista machine.

So, I apologize if this is really obvious, but I'm used to capturing analog input in a 'Sound Editor' window that had a time line, and made it really easy to insert and move track breaks in real time while recording, watching levels, etc...

I'd really like to do things like I used to. But so far, the desire to record audio from a cassette seems to require going through a 'Roxio LP and Tape Assistant' window, which doesn't seem to have the same real time functionality.

Is there anything identical or analogous to the 'sound editor' window that I can use for this function, and if there is, how do I navigate to it?

No, nothing like that great version in EMC 7.

Thanks for responding, notwithstanding the ultimately disappointing answer. Oh well. Will try to cope. I am figuring things out, but boy, I did like the way that 'sound editor' in EMC 7 worked.

Thanks again.
